Currently when you cancel a sales order, it deletes the entire record out of WMS. Is is possible to have a CANCELLED status instead and leave it in WMS so that there's an audit trail of the order? At the moment, once it's cancelled you can't drill in and see what happened.

I am pretty sure there is a option in Sales Preferences to retain cancelled orders. If you login as admin, open the preferences, check the sales options - it is something like Cancelled Orders are retained for auditing. Hope that helps!
